The Bean

On our way back from Omaha over the weekend, Kim and I stopped off in Chicago to see some great works at The Art Institute of Chicago and The Cloud Gate, aka “The Bean.”

We got to the museum at 4:15p after having a really good Chicago-style pizza with a fun waiter named Darien only to find that the museum was closing at 5, but at least my regular admission and Kim’s student discount were cut in half because it was during the last hour of the day. We had to rush a little bit but we saw most of the famous pieces including a number by Monet, Picasso, Degas, Cezanne, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Pollock, and the Seurat as seen in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. We missed seeing American Gothic, though. Next time.

I’ll post other views of this, as well as some shots from our time in Cleveland later this week. So be on the lookout!
