Book Review: Scott Kelby’s Lightroom 2 Book
Scott Kelby’s recent book The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 Book for Digital Photographers, first launched with the first ever Worldwide Photowalk held back in August, is the source for education and training for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom v.2.
For photographers new to the software and those upgrading from version 1 alike, Scott’s Lightroom 2 book is a perfect mix of tips, techniques & tutorials and the wit and “big picture” wisdom that is just what you would hope for from a Kelby book.
I’ve been a Lighroom user since version 1 was in beta and had been keeping up with each successive version, including 2 beta, but even with that experience the ever advancing evolution of Lightroom’s features meant there was a lot to learn in version 2. Kelby offers up a Master Class for this software that pushes the boundaries of photo processing. It is told in such a plain voice that users of all levels can follow and learn without feeling overwhelmed or left behind.
As with the other volumes in the “…for Digital Photographers” series Scott starts off at the logical beginning, explaining every option in every dialog box and panel so that when you need to make those critical processing decissions, you know just what to do. From importing to orgranizing, from developing to sharing, Scott takes you through the entire workflow step-by-step so that you can get the most out of your images.
For those considering the Lightroom 2 ACE exam, consider this your study guide and textbook, providing all that you need to know to achieve your creative goals. All that is left is for you is to get out there and shoot! Check it out now!
