February Photo Contest – Final Week!
That’s right! We’re already into the final week of February 2010, which means the February Photo Contest is closing fast!
You have until 11:59pm EST to enter up to 3 photos to the February 2010 Phot0 Contest Flickr Group to be considered.
As with all of my contests, it is open to all photographers from any skill level from amateur to professional, whether you’re shooting with a hot DSLR or your camera phone, everyone is welcome to participate and send in their shots for consideration. The only restriction is that prizes will be awarded to US residents only.
Just as the contest is open to everyone, the subject matter of the submissions. There are no set themes that your photos need to fit into. It makes my job a little harder as I look for the best overall shot from the pool – because judging a portrait can be so different from a landscape and photojournalistic can be so different from a highly processed shot.
This month we’ll be starting something new. In addition to receiving a cool prize, the winner each month will join me the next month in judging the contest and selecting the winner. This month Chris Stern, of nolanstern photography, will be helping me out with this daunting task.
The other prize for the winner – as if working with me wasn’t reward enough! – is a canvas gallery wrap in any standard size up to 16×20 from our friends over at IGT America (Thanks Troy, as always!).
I know some of you out there may not feel ready to enter a contest and you’d like some feedback about what you’re doing right and what you might want to try for next time, email me a shot or two at firstname.lastname@example.org and – with your permission, of course – I would be glad to post your photo and offer some insights here on the blog!
So get shooting and send in your shots! Chris and I are looking forward to seeing what you have for us!
