4 Exciting Photo-Related Plans in the Works

With all the attention in the photo industry focussed on what’s going to be happening down in Orlando this week at Photoshop World it can be easy to forget about all the other great things going on in other regions of the community. Now, I love Photoshop World and NAPP and I look forward to when I can make my way back to one soon. But I want to make sure you are all aware of some really cool plans coming up here at Jason D. Moore Photography.

  1. Start to Finish from the TJM Media Group: I know it’s been awhile, but Rob Jones and I are in the recording and editing phases of our next episode of our new Photoshop and Photography Training Podcast. This time we’re going to be talking about HDR photography and both how to setup for your shots and how to pull the frames together to create the image. I’m really excited to continue this venture with Rob to provide you with quality photo education opportunities. As a reminder, this whole project is user driven. send us your ideas for what you’d like to see in an upcoming episode. Is there a processing style you’ve always wanted to know “how’d they do that?” or a setup you wish you could learn? Send us email to let us know! We look forward to hearing from you!
  2. Guest Blogging: First off, I’d like to thank all my guest bloggers for the tremendous job they’ve been doing! Each post has added something to this blog and the community we’ve been developing over the past few years. I mentioned it briefly last week but I wanted to reiterate an opportunity for each of you to take a more active role in this community. My wife and I are going to be welcoming the newest member of our family in just a few weeks. At that point I’ll be taking some time away from the blog to devote to being a new dad. With the exception of a few pre-scheduled posts – which I’ll be talking about in the next point – I’d like to invite you to send in a guest post or two. I think this could be a great way to share your photos, ideas, techniques with a larger audience and help generate some traffic back to you blog/site/portfolio. Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll give you more details!
  3. Mpix Reviews: Ever since my BIG Photo Contest last summer, the folks over at Mpix have been great supporters of the work I’ve been doing here and some of the projects I’ve hosted and participated in over the past few months. Starting this week, I’ll be posting a weekly series of reviews of some of their more popular products from gallery wraps to standouts to fully framed photos to different papers. In conjunction with the reviews, Mpix has given me special discount codes to share with you all so you can grab a new specialty print for yourself for a limited time. So be on the lookout for the reviews and be sure to take advantage of the promotional rates that you will only find here!
  4. April Photo Contest: I know, I know, the March Photo Contest isn’t even over yet and we’re already talking about April? Mpix has been so generous as to sponsor the prize for our next contest to cap off this review series we’re working on together. I won’t give away what the prize is just yet, but suffice it to say that the winner will be a very lucky photog!

So please keep coming back to see how these new and exciting plans take form and to take part in their development over the coming weeks!
