The Results Are In! October 2010 Photo Contest

This has been a special month for the photo contest here on the blog. Not only did I have the good fortune to team up with NAPP to get a sweet prize from my friend Matt Kloskowski, Matt served as our guest judge this go ’round! Thank you to everyone over at NAPP for the generous donation of the prize and a huge thank you to Matt for taking the time to go through and judge this month’s entries!

I know it was a hard decision, as it always is, because my readers can come up with some amazing photos. Even there could only be one winner, I want to congratulate all of those who submitted photos on some truly great work!

So, without further ado, the winner of a signed copy of Matt’s new book, Layers: The Complete Guide to Photoshop’s Most Powerful Feature, Second Edition is:

Photoshop Evangelist Contest Entry

As today is the deadline for entering the Next Photoshop Evangelist Contest, I thought I would share my entry with all of you. If you’ve been following me on my Jason D. Moore Photography Facebook Page or on Twitter, you’ve seen me post this before.

Each video has to be no more than two minutes (check!), use Photoshop CS5 (check!), teach one of the new features in CS5 (check!), and incorporate the concept of “20” in the final image to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Photoshop (check!).

Once they have all the entries, the judges will be weeding out the videos that don’t fit the criteria and select up to 12 finalists. At that point, between September 8th-20th, voting will open up to the Photoshop Facebook Community and the video with the highest number of votes wins.

Friday Photo News & Updates

I’d like to start off by thanking everyone who responded to Wednesday’s post about continuing to build our Photoshop & Photography Community. I truly appreciate you taking the time to share a little bit of your stories with everyone. If you haven’t shared yet, please do! I’d love to hear from as many of you as possible!

There is a lot going on over the next couple of weeks through the beginning of May – personally, here on the blog, and across the digital imaging industry.

Guest Post: Don’t Miss the Story – by Rob Jones

Hi gang. First of all I’d like to thank Jason for giving me the opportunity to take the helm of such a great blog. As a fellow blogger, the quality and consistency of posts coming from this web address is something to be admired. Jason keep up the great work.

To be honest, when Jason first approached me with the request to guest blog, I had every intention to use the opportunity to put together some funny, two-bit post on photographers and all their quirks. As you know, we’re a different breed of people and I’ve found we all enjoy poking fun at ourselves and others like us. However, that blog entry is going to have to wait for a future post, because the events of the last few days have shifted the attitude and emotion I have to bring to the virtual table. Thanks in advance for understanding.
