"Across a Sea of White" (11-23-00) In the candlelight I sit and watch The silent dance of wind and snow. And the glowing embers of the fire Echo the roars of a blaze long since put out, A sense of peace overcomes my sorrow. Lost loneliness and forgotten fears Are now but a finished chapter in the book of my life. Looking forward I can see That which will keep me warm. Amidst the snow and ice and cold Stands the one that can endure With a spirit of love and strength and gentleness That will shelter me from the harsh world outside. Across this vast sea of white This one is my beacon of hope Guiding me home through this dark night. Leaving a flame long extinguished Together we build a fire of our own! And may it be bright and full of love To make it through the winter's fury. From eve to eve and morn to morn May it never diminish in strength!
