"One Step at a Time"

With strength of spirit and boundless love
I venture out to wher I may be free.
Though full of fear and full of doubt
Of all that lies ahead,
I overcome and carry on
With the empowering light of hope
That cradles me and comforts me
As I walk down this dark, uncertain path.
With obstacles and choices to be made-
Whether left or right or to even go on at all-
My courage fades and my heart grows weak.
I wonder if I'll ever reach my goal...
My burden is too large. The road, too long.
I'm all alone.
But is it too much - this task before me-
For the lonely soul that I am?
Though the journey may be hard
When taken as a whole
Each step will get me there.
To walk the path and make it through
To the end that waits for me,
I must remember and never forget
That the journey begins with one.
And it won't be too great if I can take
One single step at a time.
