"Seeking Some Silence" (11-9-01) Along the lonely lanes of life I wander wearily and wonder About all adventures yet to come. Speeding and swerving down the street I'm surrounded by a swarm of strangers And sirens sound so streadily. To escape every ecstatic expression And avoid all annoying agrivations Is something I seek with all my strength. Surely I'm seeking some solace, A switch from strain and strife To total trance-like tranquility Without one wrong to work through. So long as steady social suffering Abounds amidst all and atrophy sets in I continue with courage through calamity To struggle and seek some silence.
